Another amazing album by Jason and the 400 unit. Don’t believe the haters, the songs are amazing, heartbreaking, and immediate as always. Is Jason political, 100%, but he handles his politics deftly on this album and imo arrives at truths that both sides can sign along to.
It just keeps getting worse

I thought Nashville Sound was awful. I thought Reunions was worse. I figured Jason had made his versions of Metallica's "St. Anger and LuLu". I was mistaken. This is by far his worst effort yet. It's Isbell on cruise control and horrifically boring. His greatest album, Southeastern, is an absolute masterpiece. Because it's filled with honesty, pain, regret, longing, suffering, and it coalesces into probably the greatest album recorded in the past 20 years, period.
The goat.

Isbell at his best
Horrible album

This guy is even more overrated then Zach Bryan. The production, songs, and vocals are horrible on this mess of an album. Dude needs to stick to the acoustic guitar and whisper singing. Calling this a rock album is even a far stretch and really an insult to rock music.Vocally he can’t even handle these songs that he helped create lol. Skip it 👍
Troubadour for depressives

Another great album, but also as usual, a bit dark. The 400 Unit's work is excellent and Jason's lyrics are a bit more complex.
For Those Who Like Jason being Jason

It’s pathetic that some have let their hate consume them and give 1 star non-reviews after not buying or listening to the album. For those of you who like Jason’s music and aren’t political terrorist wannabes, it’s more of the same albums before but better. Thoughtful acoustic stories and jamming Southern rock anthems. Great album.

If you enjoy phenomenal lyricism with meaning, along with great instrumentation then you’ll enjoy this record.
Amazing album

This album is just amazing. Catchy riffs, melodies and powerful lyrics. Start to finish the songs are all great. Jason Isbell is one of the great songwriters of our time. The crafting of the songs and the musicianship is on point! It's so refreshing to hear an artist like this today!
An art work.

This what it looks like to listen to someone create, curate and dictate his or her art. Awesome.
